FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION AT THE SOCIETY FOR INDIAN CHILDREN’S WELFARE
Founder’s Day is celebrated every year on our Late Founder, Dr. Zarin Dadina’s birthday. She had founded the Organization 44 years ago to reach out to the marginalized, orphan, abandoned and destitute children of Kolkata. She lit many a life and continued to guide and motivate all at SICW to serve with a spirit of service, love and empathy. Though she is not with us today, her spirit reigns and the Organization continues to march ahead with a team of dedicated people.
The day was celebrated at the premises of the Society For Indian Children’s Welfare, Beckbagan and Jan Seva, our Community Resource Centre in Kasba.
Tributes were paid to the late Founder by Members of the Governing Body, our staff and children who joined in celebrating the day. There were very touching moments when the caregivers who have worked for 39 years, paid their tributes. The staff shared their memories of their moments with Dr. Dadina and how she stood as a role model for them. It was heartwarming to see the spirit of discipline and service that each one at SICW is committed to.
A special lunch was organized for all. The day concluded with camaraderie and oneness. We pray that the inspiring work of our Founder continues and we are able to witness greater heights. We pray for her soul to rest in peace.
