Annual Prize Distribution at Jan Seva

Jan Seva celebrated it Prize Distribution Day and Farewell ceremony for the outgoing children of this academic year 2023 were celebrated on 8th Dec 2023. Children who have performed very well in their assessment were also given prizes to give a recognition of their achievement. There were eminent guests who were present to grace the occasion. The Honourable Chairperson Ms. Jyothi Bhatia, Vice Chairperson Mrs. Shirin Dastur were present in this program. The Guest of Honour was Mrs. Rajashree Biswas, Principal of Garden High School. Board Member Mrs. Janak Hartnett was also present for this occasion. The commencement of the program began with the lightning of the lamp by Mrs. Rajashree Biswas and Ms Jyothi Bhatia creating a thoughtful and vibrant beginning of the show. From the six crèche there were 18 children who stood in positions of First, Second and Third to brighten up the stage for taking their prizes from Mrs Shirin Dastur. There were 22 students who have done Excellent in their overall performance, they received their prizes from Mrs. Rajashree Biswas.

Prizes were also given for Good attendance record maintained by three children of the crèche. Few students who have performed very well in their Computer exam, also received their certificates and mementos from Mr. Krishna who was present on this occasion from Canada. There were 49 outgoing children who are going to the mainstream schools like Beltala High School, Lake Girl’s High School, Tiljala Boy’s High School, Kamala Chatterjee School for Girl’s, Merium English Medium School, Grooming Valley High School, Jagabandhu Institution, Kasba Balika Vidyalaya and many other good mainstream schools. It was a very proud moment for the teacher's and helper's along with the Coordinator who have prepared these children for last three years. This batch was very special because they got admission during the pandemic years. So these children have attended both the online and offline classes which was absolutely a new concept for them. Initially these children faced a little difficulty as they did not have smart phones at home to do their online classes. But the parent's cooperated with us which helped us a lot to teach the children in such a lockdown condition.

The day ended on a Happy note as our Vice Chairperson announced Education Sponsorship program for the ex-students of Jan Seva who are now studying in Class 7 onwards. Students who are good in studies but are not so financially sound to carry on all the educational expenses will be included in this program. This will be a huge benefit for the ex students of Jan Seva.
