Awareness Program with Crèche Children on Sneezing, Coughing and Oral Health
In this season Colds and Coughs are very common and can make a child feel sick. The viruses are spread when we cough and sneeze. So, to make them aware, the CHP team selected the topic “Sneezing, coughing” with the crèche children of Jan Seva. We also taught them the proper techniques of maintaining oral health.
The in house awareness programme was conducted with the crèche children .The CHP team divided the children into two groups. We made some flip charts and scrapbooks on the topics for them. To make it interesting we shared the information with the children through the process of storytelling.
The program covered the following points:
Why is it important to cover your mouth when you cough?
Does coughing spread germs?
Should you cough into your hands?
Why is oral health (Dental care) so important?
How do you maintain good oral health?
Covering mouth with elbow while sneezing and coughing.
Washing hands after sneezing in your palms.
Brushing teeth twice a day (morning and night)
Use toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush that fits the mouth comfortably.

Practice good technique.
At the end of the session we called some of the children to show us the techniques of brushing and the ways of coughing that had been demonstrated to them.
