Children's Day Celebrations at Jan Seva
We celebrated Children's Day in Jan Seva today and our tiny-tots were enthralled by Walt Disney Cartoon figure - Mr.Mickey Mouse himself along with some young,enthusiastic members of Rotaract. The children danced with Mickey to peppy music and had plenty of fun. Members of Rotaract played and also danced with our babies. They gifted the Jan Seva children a chocolate and a strawberry cake; both scrumptious and enjoyed by all!
Mrs. Dhir and her sister, Mrs. Anita Chatterjee visited Jan Seva today to be a part of the Children's Day celebration and gifted us with a delicious chocolate cake, which was well enjoyed by our 'Udaan' special needs children.
Overall it was a constructive day with our tiny-tots with plenty of fun frolic and laughter!
During assembly in the morning, children were told why Children's Day is celebrated.
Children's Day is a day recognised to celebrate children. The day is celebrated on various calendar dates in different countries.
In India, Children's Day is celebrated on 14 November, on the birthday of the first Prime Minister of independent India, who was fondly called Chacha Nehru (Uncle Nehru) or Chachaji (Uncle), and who emphasized the importance of giving love and affection to children, whom he saw as the bright future of India. He wanted to enhance the progress of Indian youth for which he established education institutes like AIIMS, Indian Institute of Technology, IIM.
To give him tribute, India celebrates this festival on 14 November, the day of his birthday.
